MISSION:

Spankin' Yanks is a theatre company dedicated to presenting the best new, unproduced American and British playwriting. Its purpose is to foster new playwriting and to promote a vital US/UK theatrical exchange.

Our initial project was the European première of THE JAMMER by Yale playwright Rolin Jones (nominated in 2005 for a Pulitzer Prize) which ran at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2004. That production won a prestigious Fringe First Award for Outstanding New Writing, one of only 17 shows from the 1800 that year to be selected by The Scotsman.

Our sophomore effort, a presentation of MICKEY MOUSE IS DEAD by Justin Sherin, premiered Off-Broadway at 59 East 59 Theaters in July 2006 and then transferred to a highly successful run at The Pleasance Theatre for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in August 2006.

Currently Spankin' Yanks is co-presenting a new script by Mark Soper called CHANGE: The Upcoming War with Iran for the 2007 Edinburgh festival.

Your support will help us continue our pursuit of trans-Atlantic cultural exchange, through the production of the highest quality theatre possible.
