Spankin' Yanks is thrilled to be collaborating on a world premiere of a work in development.

“Sometimes you feel as if you just have to save the world. You do. You may be thirteen years old like I am. But still. You can’t shake off that nagging feeling that you’d really better save the world soon or else you’ll never be able to get a proper night’s sleep before school...”

What would you do if you woke up one day before school and discovered you just happened to be a superhero? In this poetic and stirring new play by Jennifer Tuckett, two ordinary schoolgirls, Yasmin and her best friend Katie, try to make sense of the crazy, confused world around them.

Jennifer Tuckett is currently a member of the Old Vic New Voices company, where her play Lucy’s Brief Guide on How to be Human was recently presented as part of the Old Vic’s 24 Hour Plays.

Ways You Can Surivive the World is being presented as a one week development project as part of Theatre 503's FEARLESS program. It will be presented at the 2007 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and as part of the “Brits Off-Broadway Festival” at New York's 59East59 Theatres in 2008.
